Enrollment Preferences

Based on our Charter Application and Georgia State Law, enrollment preferences will be given to:
  • A sibling of a student enrolled in the school
  • A student whose parent or guardian is a member of the governing board of the charter school or is a full-time teacher, professional or other employee at the charter school
     

Age Requirements

  • Students entering Kindergarten need to be age five (5) on or before September 1.
  • Students entering 1st grade need to be age six (6) on or before September 1.
     


ENROLLMENT
 

For students currently enrolled and returning to TMSA in the fall, Intent to Return forms were sent home in backpacks on Monday, January 12 and must be returned by Monday, January 26 to hold your child’s seat for the 2015 - 2016 school year. Siblings of returning students who wish to enroll for the 2015 - 2016 school year should also enroll during this pre-enrollment period. 

For new students who wish to enroll for the 2015 - 2016 school year, Open Enrollment will be February 9 - 12. Applications will not be accepted prior to February 9. Prior to the first day of Open Enrollment, TMSA will provide the number of seats available in Open Enrollment for each grade. For each grade with seats available, all students who submit the necessary paperwork during Open Enrollment will receive an equal opportunity to attend TMSA. You must be a Fulton County resident districted for Fulton County Schools in order to apply. 

During the Open Enrollment period, for each grade with seats available, if we receive more applications than spots available for a particular grade, a lottery will be held for the available seats. On Tuesday, February 24th the lottery for current siblings will be held in the mini-chapel at 10:00 a.m. of College Park First United Methodist Church (CPFUMC) and Wednesday, February 25th in the sanctuary of CPFUMC at 10:00 a.m. for applicants applying during open enrollment. 

We will continue to enroll after the Open Enrollment period on a first come, first served basis. Once any particular grade is considered full then a numbered wait list will begin and continue through the start of the 2015 - 2016 school year. If the applications received during the Open Enrollment period for a particular grade do not exceed the number of available seats, all students will be accepted. All families will be notified in writing of acceptance or placement on the wait list.
